To celebrate my parents' 50th Wedding Anniversary, I framed some mementos from their wedding. Besides a couple of wedding photos, I included their wedding announcement and a couple of photos taken on their honeymoon.

My mother had saved the receipt for their wedding night at the Royal York Hotel in Toronto, Ontario - the charge was $8.50! This receipt was also included in the frame. She wrote a letter to the Royal York Hotel before their wedding anniversary and included a copy of the receipt. She received a nice note back from the hotel shortly afterward and my parents were offered a room at the hotel for the same price they paid on their wedding night. My parents flew to Toronto later in the year and took advantage of that kind offer. It pays to keep your receipts!

Rather than having a separate guest book at the 50th wedding anniversary celebration party, we had the guests sign the mat of the frame.  I also hand-painted the frame to be black with a gold rope accent.
